GRADE 0
Where Young Students Begin Their Journey
At Pinnacle College Raslouw, our Pre-Primary caters specifically for students in Grade 0 and is designed to help young students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
Through a balance of intentional play, creativity, exploration, and foundational learning, we cultivate curiosity, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning of the school journey.
Our Grade 0 programme prepares students not only for Grade 1, but for future growth, learning, and success.
Our Approach
Building Strong Foundations
We believe young students learn best through meaningful experiences that encourage exploration, communication, creativity, and problem-solving.
Our Grade 0 programme includes:
- Inquiry-Based Learning
- Language Development (Time2Read Programme)
- Mathematics (Numberacy & NumberSense)
- Global Competencies
- Resolute Robotics & Coding
- Creative Arts & Class Music
- Physical Education
- Learn-to-Swim with Squiddies
Within a respectful and nurturing environment, students are encouraged to build confidence, develop independence, form positive relationships, and feel a genuine sense of belonging within the school community.
Students applying for Grade 0 must turn 6 during the academic year of enrolment to support school readiness and future progression into Grade 1.
Reports and
Readiness Assessments
Parents receive ongoing feedback regarding their child’s development throughout the year. A face-to-face settling-in verbal report is shared during Term 1, followed by eeport cards in June and December.
Grade 0 students also participate in a Grade 1 Readiness Assessment during the year to support their transition into formal schooling and future progression into Grade 1.
