Pinnacle College Waterfall is proud to announce the appointment of Andrea Dawson to the position of Executive Head from the 1st of July 2022.  Andrea has 29 years of experience in education. “Over the years, I have witnessed children realise that they are capable of achieving so much more than what they think they can achieve. Playing just a small role in this growth has brought me immeasurable joy and fulfilment as an educator and a human being.”

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Primary Education from WITS University, an Honours Degree in Remedial Education from UNISA and a Master's Degree in Education Management from the University of Johannesburg. She began her career in education as a Primary School English and Music teacher, and after spending six years doing so, she decided to stretch her teaching range a little more and moved into the high school arena where, for fifteen years, she taught senior English at Edenvale High School and was appointed Head of the English Department.  Over the last seven years, Andrea has been a Senior English teacher as well as Deputy Principal at Trinityhouse High School, Randpark Ridge. She has a passion for developing the talents of her students in the Cultural Sphere, and has been involved in Drama, Choir and Public Speaking throughout her school, university and teaching career.

When Andrea is not moulding young minds, she enjoys being creative, whether by working in her garden, knitting, crocheting, playing her piano or singing. She is also very committed to serving in her church as Director of the Worship Ministry. 

Andrea’s rare combination of experience, skills and knowledge in education, management and business make her well suited for this position.
