Extra-Curricular

At Pinnacle College Copperleaf we place emphasis on children participating in extra murals at least twice a week. Our varied sports programme helps encourage students to discover their talents and love the game.

Our students learn that extend beyond the classroom are the 3 “P’s” patience, persistence and practice. Team members quickly discover that practice and discipline is always required on the sports fields and that the harder they work, the better they will perform.

Commitment to at least one sport and one culture extra mural a week teaches students the concept of never giving up and always trying to achieve their goals. These are some of the life lessons that our Copperleaf students learn which will help them to succeed in the real world.

Team Selection

• Selection of players is based on merit, and in accordance with the principles described in the terms of participation.

• The decision of the coach is final.

• Children who do not represent the school will compete against each other at Interhouse level.

• No child has an automatic right to a place in the team. All positions in teams are earned through skill, commitment, punctuality, loyalty and sportsmanship. The interests of the team are always placed above the interests of an individual.

• No child may ever play “down” an age group i.e. an U10 may not play for an U9 team.

• Only in the best interests of the child and the school may a child play “up” an age group i.e. U9 play for an U10 side.

• Where children have the opportunity of representing their area or province, we make every effort to help them achieve this goal.

• No team is “set in concrete” and movement between teams is encouraged but is at the discretion of the coach.

• Team selections may include reserves both for the purpose of replacing injured players, and for giving opportunities for players to participate at higher levels where appropriate.

Collection Times After Extra Murals

  • All students need to be fetched within 40 minutes of an activity having ended.

  • If students have not been fetched within the allocated times, they will be sent to Aftercare.

  • Students must be fetched promptly from matches, at the time given on the letter.
