STEAM AND RDI CLASSES
STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.
For Grades 1 to 7, the first hour of every Thursday is dedicated to getting the students “out of the box” and into a new world that exposes them to dedicated opportunities for creativity and innovation. They work in groups and are encouraged to paint, draw, design, construct and demonstrate their divergent thinking within topic frameworks. This further enhances the Global Competencies used in all aspects of teaching enhancing the students’ readiness for forging into the 21st Century world of work.
RDI - Respect, Diversity and Inclusion.
For Grades 1 to 7, the first hour of every Tuesday is dedicated to a RDI classes. Together, Respect, Diversity, and Inclusion form an essential triad that guides our teaching philosophy and helps prepare Pupils to be compassionate, informed, and engaged citizens in a global society.
Assessments and
Reports
Foundation Phase | Grades 1 – 3
- A progress report is issued at the end of the 2nd and 4th Terms.
- These are supplemented by Parent Interviews at the end of the 1st Term and a Student Lead Conference during the 3rd Term.
Intermediate Phase | Grades 4 – 7
- A progress report is issued at the end of each of the Academic Cycles.
- Cycle 1 is based on continuous classwork assessments from Term 1 & Term 2
- Cycle 2 is based on continuous classwork assessments from Term 2 & Term 3 and the Mid-Year Tests.
- Cycle 3 is based on continuous classwork assessments from Term 3 & Term 4 and the Final Tests at the end of the year.
- Parents Evenings are held in Term 1 and Term 2, while Student Lead Conferences are held in the 3rd Term.
